On Memorial Day weekend, Orthodox Christians prayerfully commemorated the fallen men and women of the Armed Forces who perished by giving the "Ultimate Sacrifice.
On the closest Sunday to Memorial Day May a parish tradition continues to thrive for many years. Adjacent to Three Saints Church is a large flagpole – beneath it a commemorative gravestone, dedicated to all the men and women of the armed forces who gave the “ultimate sacrifice”. A panikhida is served for all the deceased veterans and especially the parishioners of the church who served their country by giving their own life for others.
Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral in Passaic NJ also continued their parish tradition of heading to their parish cemetery and serving a panikhida for their parish's fallen veterans especially and all veterans who perished for the plight of peace.
