Arcbishop Justinian Visits St. Vladimir Church in Miami, FL.

On Sunday, June 22, the Second Sunday after Pentecost commemorating All Saints Glorified in the Russian Lands as well as the Day of Memory and Sorrow in Russia commemorating the 73rd Anniversary of the onset of Second World War,  with the Blessing of His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America and NY, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, His Eminence Justinian Archbishop of Naro-Fominsk, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. Vladimir Church in Miami, Florida. Archbishop Justinian was co-served by Parish Rector, Archpriest Daniel McKenzie, Parish Clerics Priest Mikhail Mikhailenko and Protodeacon Thomas Branch as well as Clerics of St. Nicholas Cathedral in NY accompanying His Eminence. On Saturday Evening, the Miraculous Icon of St. Sergius of Radonezh was brought into the Temple from St. Nicholas Cathedral in New York City, while on its tour around the Russian Orthodox Churches in the USA commemorating the 700th Anniversary of the Saints’ Birth.

 

During the Liturgy, Archbishop Justinian elevated prayers for “Peace and the Overcoming of Internecine Warfare” in the Land of Ukraine, which was recently Blessed to be read aloud in the Parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill. During the Litany for the Departed, His Eminence also read aloud petitions for those who perished defending their faith and the Fatherland during the Second World War.

 

After His Sermon, Archbishop Justinian presented a gift to the parish rector, new white liturgical veils and to each parishioner, Icons of Christ our Savior and the Theotokos.

 

After the conclusion of the festive meal in the Parish Hall, Archpriest Daniel served a Moleben before the Wonderworking Icon, which then departed with Archbishop Justinian to New York City.
