On Sunday, March 15, with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and NY, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, and at the invitation of His Grace Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan; the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, His Grace Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk celebrated the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great in the Synodal Cathedral of the Mother of God of “the Sign" in New York City.
The Archpastors were co-served at the Divine Liturgy by clergy of the Synodal Cathedral. At the end of the Divine Liturgy the clergy venerated the Holy and Life-Giving Cross.
Bishop Nicholas then greeted Bishop John and thanked him for his prayers at the Divine Liturgy. He underlined that the tradition of the brother hierarchs serving together will continue. In turn, Bishop John thanked Bishop Nicholas for the invitation to serve at the Cathedral and expressed his thanks to Metropolitan Hilarion for giving the blessing for him to concelebrate at the Divine Liturgy.
Brotherly interaction between the Archpastors continued in the Synodal hall.
On the Fifth Sunday of Lent, Bishops Nicholas and John will concelebrate at the Divine Liturgy in St. Nicholas Cathedral.
