Bishop John Celebrates Liturgy in Sts. Peter and Paul Church

On Sunday July 12, the feast of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, His Grace Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk celebrated the Divine Liturgy in Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Scranton, PA on the occasion of their patronal feastday.

His Grace was co-served by parish rector Archpriest Basil Micek; Archpriest Michael Lepa; Abbot Nicodemus (Balyasnikov, cleric of St. Nicholas Cathedral NYC); Protodeacon Stephen Howanetz, cleric of St. John the Baptist Cathedral, Mayfield PA (ROCOR) and Deacon Mark Rashkov, cleric of St. Nicholas Cathedral, NYC. Clergy from neighboring OCA and ROCOR parishes were also praying in the church.

After Holy Communion the clergy sang the magnification to Sts. Peter and Paul. His Grace then delivered a sermon to the faithful and congratulated them on their parish altar feastday. Bishop John presented Fr. Basil with a embroidered illiton for the Holy Antimins on the Holy Altar and presented a number of parishioners with Archpastoral Gramotas for their labors to Sts. Peter and Paul Church.

Parishioners then had the opportunity to meet their archpastor during the meal in the parish hall.
