The Eastern District Community Collaboration Unit of the Baltimore Police Department held a drive to collect toiletries and clothing for the homeless. The drive was announced on Tuesday, March 8, with the ending date of Friday March 31.
Despite the very short time span, Holy Trinity Church in Baltimore MD responded. On Sunday 27 March 2016 they made 119 bags of toiletries. Each bag was decorated by one of the children and filled with donations which were collected this date and the previous Sunday. The parish had also collected clothes which were originally designated for another project which has been put on hold by the client.
On Sunday Sgt. Brown, Officer Amos, Officer Whitted, and Officer Grimes came to the church and picked up the items which we collected for them.
"We hope that this is just one of many projects that we will be doing with and for the Baltimore Police Department."
