At the conclusion of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Tikhon warmly greeted Metropolitan Hilarion as a representative of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Church in which the Orthodox Church in America received her spiritual traditions.

The Primate of the Orthodox Church in America also remarked on the importance of the World Summit that included delegations from the Russian Orthodox Church and the Orthodox Church in America, underlining the importance of bringing the persecution of Christians to the world stage.

Metropolitan Hilarion in turn thanked His Beatitude for the invitation to visit and serve in St. Nicholas Cathedral. He also reminded that 2017 marks 100 years of the election of Patriarch Tikhon who is also affectionately referred to as the Apostle to America and that this date is momentous for the Russian Church and the Church in America.

Metropolitan Hilarion also warmly greeted Protopresbyter Daniel and Matushka Evdokia Hubiak and recalled the memories of joint services with Fr. Daniel in the Church of St. Catherine in Moscow.
