On Sunday, November 11, the feast of the Synaxis of the Holy Unmercenaries, Bishop Viktor of Artzis, vicar of the Diocese of Odessa, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York City. His Grace was co-served by cathedral clergy.

After the reading of the Gospel, Bishop Viktor delivered a sermon. During the Augmented Litany, prayers were raised for peace in the Ukraine.

At the conclusion of the Liturgy, His Grace greeted the clergy and parishioners on the day of the Resurrection, as well as expressing his gratitude to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and the interim Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, Bishop Matthew for the warm reception in the diocesan cathedral of the Moscow Patriarchate in the United States. Bishop Viktor also presented a chalice set for the newly-established chapel of St. George the Great Martyr in Mexico.

On behalf of the clergy and faithful of St. Nicholas Cathedral, Abbot Nicodemus (Balyasnikov) greeted Bishop Viktor, thanking him for his support of the new parish in Mexico and for the joint prayer. He also asked that Bishop Viktor relay words of support and well wishes for the turbulent times befalling the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and all Ukraine and Metropolitan Agathangel of Odessa and Ismail.
