Patriarch Kyrill celebrates namesday in Christ the Savior Cathedral

On May 24, the feast of Holy Equal to the Apostles Methodius and Cyril, teachers of the Slavs, His Holiness Patriarch Kyrill of Moscow and All Russia celebrated Divine Liturgy in the Christ the Savior Cathedral in Moscow. The feast also coincided with the Day of Slavic Literature & Culture and the namesday of His Holiness Patriarch Kyrill.

His Holiness was co-served by the permanent members of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, a multitude of hierarchs and clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church, including Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, interim Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, and cleric of St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York, Priest Mark Rashkov.

The bishops and clergy of the Local Orthodox Churches participated in the service, including the head of the Antiochian Archdiocese in North America, Metropolitan Joseph of New York and all North America Joseph, Vicar General Archpriest Thomas Zain, and Archpriest Daniel Andrejuk, representative of the Orthodox Church in America.
