On Tuesday, April 8, a regular meeting of the Bishop's Council of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA was held in St. Michael the Archangel Church in Philadelphia, PA, presided over by the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, His Eminence Justinian, Archbishop of Naro-Fominsk.
In his introduction, Archbishop Justinian stressed the importance of continued active missionary work among the parishes.
The Council discussed and approved a wide range of topics pertaining to the life of the Patriarchal Parishes. In particular, the council heard reports of the final preparations made by the Pre-Convocation Committee in regards to the Special Convocation of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA being held on April 25-26 in Passaic NJ. Archbishop Justinian reiterated the importance of the Convocation to Council Members and stressed the need for all parishes to participate. The Council expressed their gratitude to the Treasurer, Panagiotis Billis for his comprehensive Financial Report which was later approved by the Council. Before the conclusion of the meeting, Council members were presented with a report by Reader George Konyev, concerning the newly-established English Language website of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA. Members then acquainted themselves with the new website, which was then officially published by Archbishop Justinian.
The meeting concluded with the singing of “It is Truly Meet”. Archbishop Justinian thanked each council member for their participation, as well as the hospitality of the Parish of St. Michael the Archangel.
