On Wednesday August 6, the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, His Grace John, Bishop of Naro-Fominsk, arrived in the United States since his Elevation to the Episcopacy on August 1st. Earlier that day, the Chancellor of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA Archpriest George Konyev and the Secretary to the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, Abbot Nicodemus (Balyasnikov) greeted His Grace at the John F. Kennedy International Airport.
With the peal of bells and the traditional greeting of bread and salt, Bishop John entered St Nicholas Cathedral for the first time as a Bishop and presided at the Thanksgiving Moleben.
His Grace was co-served by Archpriest George Konyev, Chancellor of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, Archpriest Alexander Golubov, Cathedral Cleric; Archpriest Seraphim Gan, Rector of St. Seraphim Memorial Church, Sea Cliff NY(ROCOR); Hieromonk Savvatey (Ageyeev), Rector of St. Nicholas Church, Reading PA; Abbot Nicodemus (Balyasnikov), Cathedral Cleric; Priest Alexey Paranyuk, Cathedral Cleric; Protodeacon Igor Panachev, Cathedral Cleric; Deacon John Peters, Cathedral Cleric; Deacon Mark Rashkov, Cathedral Cleric; Deacon Dionysius Lvov, Cleric of the Cathedral of the Sign (ROCOR). Also praying in the Church was Protodeacon Vadim Gan, Cleric of Holy Virgin Protection Cathedral, Des Plains IL (ROCOR).
At the conclusion of the Moleben, on behalf of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, Archpriest George Konyev greeted Bishop John and wished him God's unending mercy and love in his Archpastoral service in the United States. His Grace then thanked all those gathered for their prayers.
Interaction between the Hierarch, Clergy and faithful continued in the Hall of St. Nicholas Cathedral.
