Clergy of the Central States Deanery Participate in Annual Pilgrimage in Rives Junction, MI

On Friday August 15, clergy of the Central States Deanery participated in the Annual Pilgrimage to Holy Dormition Monastery in Rives Junction, MI (OCA) for the New Calendar Feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God. The pilgrimage is a time-honored tradition for many years for clergy and faithful of the parishes around Michigan to flock to the Holy Dormition Monastery on its New-Calendar Patronal Feastday. The Monastery is under the Romanian Archdiocese of the Orthodox Church in America. The weekend celebration was presided by OCA Hierarchs, Archbishop Nathanael of Detroit and the Romanian Episcopate, Bishop Irineu of Dearborn Heights and Bishop Alexander of Toledo and the Bulgarian Archdiocese. 

Clergy representing the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA during the pilgrimage were Archpriest Roman Star, Dean of the Central States and Rector of St. Innocent Church, Redford MI; Archpriest Paul Waters, Rector of Holy Dormition Church, Benld IL; Archpriest Lawrence Bacik, Rector of St. Elias Church, Battle Creek MI and Priest Christopher Rozdilski, Rector of St. Andrew Church, East Lansing MI.
