During the month of January, the parish and clergy of St. Innocent Church, Redford MI hosted and presented a number of Orthodox outreach events to educate the citizens of the surrounding area about the Holy Orthodox Faith.
On Friday, January 30, Fr. Stephen Powley, new Executive Director of the national Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry (OCPM) — an agency of the national Assembly of Orthodox Bishops — was welcomed to Metro-Detroit to conduct a mini-seminar for people who are interested in developing a local Orthodox Prison Ministry, associated with the national OCPM organization.
Friday’s mini-seminar was preceded by a dinner meeting on Thursday evening between Fr. Stephen, and the 2 co-founders of the Prison Ministry group — Archpriest Roman Star, (Rector of St. Innocent Church in Redford, and Dean of the Central States Deanery, and the group’s Spiritual Advisor)

On Saturday, January 31, Fr. Jerome Sanderson spoke at a mini-seminar at St. Innocent Church in Redford, MI. The event was sponsored by the Detroit Chapter of the national Brotherhood of St. Moses the Black. Fr. Jerome’s presentation was about the life of St. Moses the Black, and its relevance for us today
