On Bright Saturday, April 18, His Grace Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk, Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA and His Grace Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, Vicar of the Eastern American Diocese of ROCOR; celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. Vladimir Memorial Church in Jackson, NJ. Their Graces were co-served by clergy of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA and the Eastern American Diocese.
The Divine Liturgy was sung by the Prince Vladimir Youth Association Choir under the direction of A. Fekula. The same choir preformed a Paschal concert the previous evening in Jackson.
After Holy Communion, the Archpastors read aloud the prayer at the Breaking of the Artos which was then distributed to the faithful. They then exchanged Paschal greetings between each other and to the assembled clergy and faithful.
Bishop John especially greeted the Chairman of the Youth Department of the Russian Church Abroad, Senior Priest of the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign, Archpriest Andrei Sommer. With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia, in recognition of his 50th birthday and his missionary work with the youth, Bishop John presented Fr. Andrei with the Order of St. Innocent of Moscow, Third Class.
Interaction between Archpastors, clergy and faithful continued in the parish hall.
