From July 20-24, the Orthodox Church in America hosted its XVIII All-American Council in Atlanta, Georgia. Attending as honored guests were representatives of the Moscow Patriarchate - the Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the Most Blessed Onufry, Metropolitan of Kiev and all Ukraine, the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, His Grace Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk and His Grace Bishop Eusebius, vicar of the Diocese of Chernovtsy & Bukovina who was accompanying Metropolitan Onufry.
On July 23, the honored guests, the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church in America concelebrated at the Divine Liturgy with the Head of the OCA, the Most Blessed Tikhon, Metropolitan of all America and Canada. At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Tikhon greeted the honored guests and underlined the significance the attendance at the All-American Council of representatives from brotherly Local Churches which serves as a witness of the spiritual unity the Churches share.
That evening during the closing banquet, Metropolitan Onufry delivered an address to the participants of the All-American Council and conveyed the well wishes from the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill.
During the Council, Bishop John had the opportunity to meet with the various hierarchs of the Orthodox Church in America and discuss various issues of mutual interest.
