On Thursday December 10, the feast day of the Icon of the Mother of God "of the Sign," divine services in honor of the patronal feast day of the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City were led by the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York. His Eminence was co-served by hierarchs of the Church Abroad who arrived in New York City for a meeting of the ROCOR Synod of Bishops as well as the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, His Grace Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk. 

The Divine Liturgy was served in the presence of the Protectress of the Russian Diaspora - the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God. 

Following Holy Communion, the hierarchs served a short moleben before the wonder-working Icon after which the hierarchs greeted Metropolitan Hilarion on the occasion of the patronal feast day of the Synodal Cathedral.
