On Wednesday evening, November 8, the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, Representative of the Russian World People's Council to the United Nations, His Grace Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk attended the Tenth Annual Orthodox Prayer Service for UN Community in the Holy Trinity Greek Archdiocesan Cathedral in New York City.
Attending the reception was the head of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in America, Archbishop Demetrios of America; Bishop Irinej of Eastern America (Serbian Patriarchate); Metropolitan Tikhon of all America and Canada (Orthodox Church in America; Archbishop Daniel of Pamphilon (Ukrainian Archdiocese of the Ecumenical Patriarchate) and Archbishop Michael of New York and New Jersey (Orthodox Church in America).
Representing the Eastern Christian Churches was Archbishop Khajag Barsamian of the Armenian Church; Archbishop Mor Dionysius John Kawak of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch; Archbishop Mor Titus Yeldho of the Malankara Syrian Orthodox Church; Bishop David of the Coptic Orthodox Church; representatives of the Ethiopian Tewahedo Church Eritrean Church.
After a short moleben led by Archbishop Demetrios, the President of the 72nd Session of the UN General Assembly, Miroslav Lajčák delivered remarks.
A reception was held afterwards which was attended by the hierarchs, members of the Serbian Royal Family and other official attendees.
