On April 29, the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost, the chairman of the Department for Institutions Abroad, Archbishop Antony of Vienna and Budapest celebrated Divine Liturgy in St. Nicholas Cathedral in New York City. His Eminence was co-served by the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk as well as the chancellor of the Patriarchal Parishes, Archpriest Igor Tarasov and cathedral clergy.
After the reading of the Gospel, Archbishop Antony delivered a sermon.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy, Archbishop Antony was greeted by Bishop John, thanking him for the joy to serve together and asked that His Eminence relay the gratitude of the faithful children of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA to His Holiness Patriarch Kyrill of Moscow and all Russia, for his attention and care of his flock in the United States.
In turn, Archbishop Antony relayed the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, to Bishop John, the clergy and faithful of the Patriarchal Parishes. On behalf of Patriarch Kirill, Archbishop Antony expressed his satisfaction with his trip to the Patriarchal Parishes, being able to visit a number of parishes, converse with clergy and laity. In honor of his visit, Archbishop Antony presented Bishop John with a panagia.
Interaction between the hierarchs continued during a reception, where Archbishop Antony was able to meet with the Chancellor and members of the Bishop's Council.
