On Monday, April 30, a meeting was held in the Synodal residence of the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York and the Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate's Department for Institutions Abroad, Archbishop Antony of Vienna and Budapest.
Also attending the meeting was Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany, Eastern American Diocesan Vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan and the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk.
The hierarchs discussed a number of points, regarding cooperation between the diocesan structures of the Russian Church Abroad and the parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate, in regions where they together are caring for the spiritual needs of the Russian emigres. They also expressed their mutual satisfaction of the brotherly interaction between the hierarchs and clergy of the two parts of the united Russian Orthodox Church. Metropolitan Hilarion asked that Archbishop Antony relay to His Holiness Patriarch Kyrill well-wishes and gratitude for his paternal attention to the needs of the Orthodox Abroad.
Archbishop Antony presented Metropolitan Hilarion with a jeweled paschal egg, and congratulated him with the ongoing joyful days of Pascha, as well as with the tenth anniversary as First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad.
