The day of "Living History", dedicated to the 1030th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus’ took place in Fort Ross, CA. Every year on the last Saturday of July, in the first Russian settlement in California, Fort Ross, and now - a national historic park, a celebration of "Living History", began with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy in Holy Trinity Chapel. This year, the traditional holiday coincided with the 1030th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus’.
On July 28, the dean of St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in San Francisco, Priest Alexey Bykon, celebrated the Divine Liturgy. At the conclusion of the service, the clergy and faithful walked in procession to the cemetery, where all the Orthodox founders and residents of Fort Ross were prayerfully commemorated during a Panihida. Upon its conclusion, Fr. Alexey addressed all the believers and congratulated them on the feast of Holy Grand Prince Vladimir the Equal-to-the-Apostles, Baptizer of Rus.
Then the parishioners of the Patriarchal Cathedral in San Francisco took part in the festive events of the Living History organized by the leadership of the National Historical Park Fort-Ross.
