On December 20, in St. Nicholas Cathedral in New York, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, interim Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, led the last meeting for 2018 of the Bishops Council.
In the course of the work, the Council members discussed a range of issues relating to the life and activity of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA in 2018, as well as establishing the planning committee for the organization of the Convocation of the Clergy and Laity Patriarchal Parishes in the USA in 2019.
The final financial report presented by treasurer Panagiotis Billis was heard and adopted.
In connection with the resignation of one of the members of the Bishops Council, Bishop Matthew proposed that the acting abbot of St Demetrius of Thessalonica, Hieromonk Savvatey (Ageev) will take their place. All participants in the meeting unanimously accepted the appointment.
