On Monday, February 3, a meeting was held between the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon of all America & Canada and - with the blessing of the interim Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in USA, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh - the Chancellor of the Patriarchal Parishes, Archpriest George Konyev in the Administrative Center of the Orthodox Church in America in Syosset, NY. Also attending the meeting was OCA Chancellor Archpriest Alexander Rentel, Patriarchal Parishes Vice-Chancellor Priest Mark Rashkov, Archdeacon Joseph Matusiak, Secretary to Metropolitan Tikhon and Patriarchal Parishes Media Office Director, Rdr. George Konyev.
Fr. Mark relayed Bishop Matthew's congratulations and well wishes on Metropolitan Tikhon's recent anniversary of enthronement. During the meeting, which took place in a warm fraternal atmosphere, topics of cooperation between the Russian & American Orthodox Churches were discussed. Preparation for commemorative events during the year, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Orthodox Church in America's autocephaly as well as the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of the Patriarchal Parishes were also outlined.
