On June 29-30, the International Online Conference "Youth Ministry of the Russian Orthodox Church: Experience and Perspectives" was held. The forum, aimed at uniting the experience of youth ministry in recent years, was held with the blessing of the Chairman of the Synodal Department for Youth of the Russian Orthodox Church, Bishop Seraphim of Istra at the multimedia center of the Russian Orthodox University of St. John the Evangelist.
The head of the Youth Department of the Patriarchal Parishes in the United States, Priest Yulian Ryabtsev, who thanked the organizers for the opportunity to participate in such a large-scale international event, spoke about the ten-year history of the youth work in St. Nicholas Cathedral and the mission to include all the parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate in the United States & Canada during the lecture "Strategy for the Development of Orthodox Youth in Russia and Abroad"
On the second day of the section, a discussion of the final document took place. The discussion was attended by Igor Kochan, the President of the group Russian Youth of America and head of youth programs at the St. Nicholas Cathedral, who proposed introducing a point on the importance of missionary work among youth with participation in social events and holidays
The final document was adopted by 91% of the conference participants, 9% considered that the document needed to be modified before it to be finalized.
The forum was attended by delegates from 22 countries. The number of participants and the geographical coverage of the conference made it the first international online congress, which brought together bishops, heads of specialized diocesan departments, confessors of youth associations and Orthodox young people.
