With the blessing of the Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk and Interim Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the United States, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, clerics of the Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church in the United States, Abbot Nicodemus (Balyasnikov) and Priest Mark Rashkov took part in the memorial services of the Primate of the Orthodox Church. America, Metropolitan Theodosius (Lazor), who reposed in the Lord on October 19.
On the evening of October 22, in St. John the Baptist Church in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, where the future Metropolitan Theodosius spent his childhood and began his church ministry, the Funeral of Hierarch was served by the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon of all America & Canada along with a multitude of hierarchs and clergy of the Orthodox Church in America.
According to the will of the newly-reposed, the burial took place at the cemetery of the Convent in honor of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. On October 23, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon celebrated the Divine Liturgy co-served by the hierarchs and clergy of the Orthodox Church in America, as well as Bishop Irinej of Eastern America of the Serbian Orthodox Church, the secretary of the Administrator of Patriarchal Parishes in the United States, Abbot Nicodemus and Vice-Chancellor of the Patriarchal Parishes, Priest Mark Rashkov.
At the end of the Liturgy, hierarchs and clergy offered eulogies on behalf of the newly-reposed. The condolences of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk were read by Priest Mark Rashkov.
After short litia, and the reading of the Prayer of Absolution, the hierarchs, clergy, nuns of the monastery, headed by Abbess Christophora, and the laity accompanied the coffin with the body of the newly reposed Metropolitan Theodosius to the monastery cemetery on his final journey.
