On November 29, the 25th Sunday after Pentecost - the feast of his heavenly patron - Apostle and Evangelist Matthew, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Grace was assisted by the Secretary of the Sourozh Diocese, Priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, and Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
At the Augmented Litany, petitions were raised to eradicate the spread of the harmful epidemic - coronavirus infection. Then His Grace offered up a prayer, which is read during the spread of a harmful epidemic.
At the end of the Liturgy, Bishop Matthew led a short moleben in front of the image of the Apostle Matthew and delivered a sermon.
On behalf of the clergy and laity of the Sourozh Diocese, the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA and Canada, the Secretary of the Sourozh Diocese, Priest Dimitry Nedostupenko addressed the Archpastor with a congratulatory speech. Father Dimitry warmly congratulated Vladyka with his name day and presented him the icon of the holy Apostle and Evangelist Matthew and a bouquet of flowers.
Vladyka was also given a separate bouquet from Archpriest Mikhail Nasonov and the clergy and laity of the deanery of the Republic of Ireland.
At the end of the festive divine service a solemn "many years" was proclaimed to the Archpastor.
