On Saturday, November 13, the feast of St. John Chrysostom (New Style), with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon of all America & Canada, the Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for External Church Relations, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokalamsk celebrated Divine Liturgy in Three Hierarchs Chapel at St. Vladimir Seminary in Crestwood, NY.
His Eminence was co-served by Seminary President, Archpriest Chad Hatfield, clerics of St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York City and seminary clergy.
After the reading of the Gospel, Metropolitan Hilarion delivered a sermon on the topic of the feast.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy, His Eminence expressed his gratitude to Metropolitan Tikhon for the opportunity to celebrate Liturgy in St. Vladimir Seminary, as well as for the academic theological conference on Searching the Scriptures, devoted to the English translations of Metropolitan Hilarion’s six-volumes study under the general title “Jesus Christ. His Life and Teaching,” which concluded the day prior.
