Concert held in St. Nicholas Cathedral in honor of 75th Birthday of Patriarch Kyrill

Festive events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Patriarch Kyrill of Moscow and All Russia, took place at the representation of the Moscow Patriarchate in the United States – St. Nicholas Cathedral in New York.

On the eve of the anniversary, November 19, at the end of the evening service, a festive concert was held in the parish hall of the cathedral, organized by the representation of the World Russian People's Council at the UN and the production agency Spotlight Artists Management and Production.

The guests of the event were not only the clergy and parishioners of the Patriarchal Cathedral, but also New Yorkers. At the beginning of the festive event, the clergy of the cathedral told the guests about the life and primatial ministry of His Holiness. The Chamber Choir of St. Nicholas Cathedral under the direction of Alexander Chaplinsky sang Many Years in Greek and Church Slavonic.

The musical program of the festive evening consisted of works by Russian classics - both the famous solo numbers and duets from the operas by P. Tchaikovsky "The Queen of Spades" and "Eugene Onegin" (performed by sopranos Zoya Gramagin and Yokhenya Fortes, tenors Pavel Sulyandzig and Mikhail Urusov), and by all favorite Waltz of Flowers from the ballet "The Nutcracker" (piano duet - Reina Wang and Nikita Stepanenko), as well as vocal and piano works by M. Glinka and S. Rachmaninov.

On Saturday, November 20, the Divine Liturgy was served at the Nicholas Cathedral in New York, followed by petitions for His Holiness. At the end of the service, the clergy and believers prayerfully proclaimed many years to the Primate.
