June 1st marks the 40 year anniversary of the repose of Archbishop Dositheus. The Archbishop is the founder and builder of St Nicholas Orthodox Center (Orthocenter) and of All Saints of Russia Church and cemetery. The 250 acre estate is located in the Catskill Region. The Archbishop authored 23 volumes of liturgical music, 4 volumes of secular compositions, 3 mathematical texts books, a large volume on Dogmatics and a volume on St Gregory Palamas, as well as others. Sentenced to execution by the NKVD after spending 10 years in Siberia he survived to continue his labors. In the United States he accomplished the rescue of St Nicholas Cathedral in NYC from the Metropolia and the Living Church, and went on to reconstruct and complete the first restoration and decoration of the cathedral after its desecration by its captors.
