On October 29, 2024, the mayor of NYC and the Office of Faith-Based and Community Partnerships organized an event at City Hall in Manhattan bringing together faith leaders of different faiths and backgrounds from all over NYC to promote solidarity for the Middle East.
With the blessing of the Interim Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, Priest Mark Rashkov, Vice-Chancellor of the Patriarchal Parishes took part in the event. Created was a space for shared grief, reflection, and unity around Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, and Lebanon. Unveiled was a Wall of Peace, signed by the mayor and all the faith leaders, to encourage visitors to City Hall to share messages of peace and solidarity, emphasizing common values rather than division.
