On October 31, 2024, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, Interim Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in theUSA, arrived in the United States. At John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, the bishop was met by the acting secretary of the diocese, Abbot Nicodemus (Balyasnikov), and the head of the chancery, Priest Mark Rashkov.

The hierarch is accompanied on the trip by his personal secretary, Nikolai Trubnikov. After venerating the holy relics of St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York City, Bishop Matthew held a working meeting with the administrative staff, discussing plans for upcoming services and meetings.
