On November 14, 2024, with the blessing of the Interim Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA and Canada, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, Vice-Chancellor of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, Priest Mark Rashkov, took part in a meeting of religious leaders with New York City Police Commissioner Thomas Donlon.
The event was organized by the New York City Mayor's Office of Religious and Community Affairs. The meeting was attended by high-ranking representatives of the police department and religious organizations.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the role of religious organizations in crime prevention, especially among the younger generation.
Mr. Thomas Donlon highly praised the role of religious institutions in New York in the public life of the city and expressed gratitude to the spiritual leaders for the constructive dialogue.
