On Saturday November 9, the clergy of the Atlantic States Deanery celebrated Divine Liturgy at St. Nicholas Church in Reading, PA. The Divine Service was led by Archpriest Mark Shinn (rector of St. Andrew Cathedral in Philadelphia, PA), and co-served by Priest Daniel Meyer (church rector), Archpriest John Vass (Atlantic States Dean and rector of Holy Trinity Church in Baltimore, MD), Priest Gregory Winsky (interim rector of St. Michael Church in Philadelphia), Priest Alexander Tsygankov (cleric of St. Andrew Cathedral), and Deacon Michael Sidorochev (cleric of St. Nicholas Church in Chester, PA).
In their words of thanks to the parish, both Fr. Mark Shinn and Fr. John Vass noted that the Divine Service was very peaceful and uplifting. The choir sang beautiful hymns in a very prayerful manner and the church was filled with many parishioners.
Following the Divine Service, a dinner was served in the church hall generously coordinated by the members of the parish.
Afterwards, Fr. John convened the deanery meeting to discuss the pastoral and administrative issues facing the parishes. Everyone participated in a robust and productive discussion. Also attending were subdeacons, readers, and altar servers.
The deanery sincerely thanks the clergy and faithful of St. Nicholas Church, for hosting such an uplifting event.
