On January 19, 2025, at the invitation of Bishop Matthew F. Heyd of the Episcopal Diocese of New York and with the blessing of His Grace, Matthew of Sorouzh, Interim Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, Priest Mark Rashkov, Vice-Chancellor of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA participated in an Evensong service at Saint John the Divine Cathedral in NYC celebrating the 1700 anniversary of the council of Nicaea. Hymns of Christian unity were offered by the Cathedral choir. To mark this historical occasion, Associate Director of Music and Organist at the cathedral, Daniel Ficarri, composed a new setting of the Creed for the service, incorporating the liturgical languages of the major liturgical traditions.
Among the distinguished guests were Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan, Primate of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America, Bishop James Mass, Auxillary Bishop of Brooklyn (Roman Catholic), Bishop Paul Egensteiner of the Metropolitan New York Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bishop Daniel Allotey of the Anglican Church, and Archimandrite Chrysostomos Gilbert, Dean of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in NYC (GOA).
After the service, the Cathedral hosted a reception for all the guests.
