As is the custom in recent years, on March 1, the clergy and faithful of the Central States Deanery gathered to pray Lenten Vespers.
In addition, they also prayed the Moleben for Those Who Have Gone Into Error, begging God to lead all who have left the Church back into the embrace of Holy Orthodoxy. Priest Joshua Genig, Dean of the Central States, presided at the services. He was co-served by Archpriest Lawrence Bacik (St. Elias, Battle Creek), Priest James Anthony (St. John Chrysostom, Grand Rapids), Priest Basil Gross (St. Andrew, East Lansing), as well as Archpriest Mikhail Volzhanskii (Rector of Dormition Cathedral, Ferndale [ROCOR]).
In addition, Deacons Michael Cook, Andrew Shauver, and Seraphim Kraker, together with numerous Subdeacons, Readers, and Servers prayed and assisted in the altar. Following the services, generous Lenten snacks were prepared for the faithful, many of whom had to drive several hours to attend.
