On May 3, 2026—the 4th Sunday after Pascha that of the Paralytic —Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, Interim Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA & Canada, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in San Francisco, CA.
At the entrance of the cathedral, His Grace was warmly welcomed by Matushka Alla and the cathedral treasurer, V. N. Pustylnik.
The archpastor was concelebrated by the cathedral’s dean, Priest Michael Kozyrev.
At the conclusion of the service, Fr. Michael cordially congratulated Bishop Matthew on the Bright Resurrection of Christ and thanked His Grace for his visit and his constant attention to the life of the cathedral.
In turn, Bishop Matthew addressed the congregation with a homily dedicated to the liturgical commemoration of the Lord’s healing of the paralytic. His Grace gratefully noted the many labors of Father Michael and his assistants, not only within St. Nicholas Cathedral but also in organizing the archpastor’s visit to the parishes of the deanery.
Upon the recommendation of Father Michael, Bishop Matthew blessed Reader Victor Minakov to wear the orarion; furthermore, in gratitude for their active assistance to the parish, he awarded archpastoral gramotas to a number of church laborers.
During the fellowship that followed at the fraternal meal, His Grace discussed various matters regarding the life and activities of the Patriarchal Cathedral with the dean, clergy, and the parishioners.
